Emma Lawrence - Class of 2025
Say hello to Emma, North Hertfordshire College alum from the class of 2025!
During her time with us, Emma worked hard on a variety of Supported Studies programmes, including a Supported Internship which saw her put her employability skills to the test with a real-life employer.
Aside from her college studies, Emma also won the ‘Be Ambitious’ award at the Hertfordshire Services for Young People Awards in 2023! Emma won this award due to her work planning and delivering insightful sessions all about SEND and Autism.
Since leaving NHC, Emma has been drawing on her own experience to actively shape local SEND provisions by working with Hertfordshire County Council as an Expert by Experience.
To help us celebrate 35 years of North Hertfordshire College, Emma got in touch to share a birthday message:
“My Job Coach and Course Leader from North Hertfordshire College helped me to prepare for my Expert by Experience interview. The Course Leader actually came along with me to the interview for extra support!
“North Hertfordshire College helped me gain confidence and key communication skills, which I use every day in my current role.
“My favourite memory from my time at College would be getting to know all the staff, and just being a part of the fantastic Supported Studies programmes!
“I’d love to give Claire, Helen, Sophie, and Marian a big shoutout.”
