Rhiannon Davies: Class of 2022

Say hello to Rhiannon, North Hertfordshire College alumna from the class of 2022. Since completing her studies at NHC, she’s achieved a bachelor’s degree in creative writing and is currently working towards a master’s in folklore studies at the University of Hertfordshire.

During her time at North Hertfordshire College, Rhiannon studied a range of different exciting courses. To help us celebrate our 35th birthday, we caught up with Rhiannon to find out more about her NHC-experience.

Check out what she had to say below:

How did NHC support you in preparing for your current course?

“North Hertfordshire College enabled a safe transition from SEND education into a broader environment. It gave me the qualifications and security to make my own decisions regarding further and higher education opportunities.”

Thinking about the skills you gained at NHC, which do you regularly use in your current course?

“I use referencing and engage in open discussions all the time on my course, and I learned how to do both of these at NHC.”

What’s your favourite memory from your time at NHC?

“I was a founding member of the original Dungeons & Dragons club at NHC, and I met my best friends there. My favourite memories are of our campaign sessions.”

Would you like to give a shoutout to any tutors, staff or friends from your time at NHC?

“Shoutout to Julie Lanaway, Julie Newland (‘Discovery’ as I called her!), Jenny Woolnough, Cheryl Hall, and Anna Copper!”
